- Foundation Ball between feet, move from foot to foot keeping ball beneath you in general the more parts of your foot that you can control the ball with, the more capable you will be of receiving and controlling the ball no matter how it comes to your feet
- Foundation Heel Same as foundation but instead of keeping ball in between instep, shift ball between heels
- Alternating Taps ball in front of you, tap one toe then the other, start slow and as you become more comfortable pick up the pace, you can move forward or backward with this drill by tapping the toe and the push the ball along the sole of the foot this move allows you to control the ball, letting you change your pace (speed) or direction in order to dribble around defenders
- Scissor ball to one side of you, cross the near leg over, the bring the far leg over and tap ball away with outside of your foot this move allows you to move the ball from one foot to the other, changing direction away from a defender
- Step Over ball to one side of you, cross far leg over, step back behind with other leg and tap ball away with outside of foot this move allows you to move the ball from one foot to the other, changing direction away from a defender
Drills
Practice these drills in place and moving. They will help you deceive a/k/a fake out your defender and beat him 1 v. 1! Do 50-100 of each drill every day.
